Open Classrooms, Endless Possibilities

Multilingual Learners

Beattie uses the Targeted and Integrated English Language Development (TIELD) Model at our school. This innovative approach ensures that all our multilingual learners (MLs) receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

What Is the TIELD Model? The TIELD Model integrates language instruction directly into the core classroom experience. Through targeted support, guidance, and coaching, our classroom teachers will deliver personalized language instruction tailored to each student's proficiency level.

ELD Paraprofessional Support
In addition to teacher-led instruction, an ELD paraprofessional will provide additional targeted support to students. This support is uniquely tailored to each student's language proficiency level, ensuring that all learners receive the help they need to thrive.

Why This Matters:

  • Inclusive Learning: Our approach creates an inclusive, welcoming environment where every student feels they belong.
  • Research-Based Practices: We are using the latest research to ensure that language development is seamlessly incorporated into everyday learning.
  • Tailored Support: Each student will benefit from instruction that is relevant and directly applicable to their language and academic growth.

How It Works:

  • Collaborative Teaching: Teachers will receive ongoing support and coaching to implement effective language strategies in their classrooms.
  • Feedback and Improvement: We’ll continuously assess and refine our approach to meet the needs of both students and teachers, ensuring the process is manageable and impactful.
  • Support for Teachers: Participating teachers will receive compensation or additional support to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

We are committed to making sure every student feels connected and supported in their language learning journey. If you have any questions or need additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Together, we can make our school a place where every student succeeds!
