Beattie Elementary provides services for students with disabilities through the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Colorado's Exceptional Children's Education Act, offering two key programs.
Multi-Categorical Program:
This program supports students with 14 different educational disabilities by providing targeted special education, related services, and accommodations. These are determined through comprehensive evaluations and outlined in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Integrated Services Supporting Students with Mild and Moderate Needs:
Our program emphasizes differentiated instruction, helping students K-5 reach their potential academically and develop their individual strengths, whether in academics, sports, music, art, or peer tutoring. With small group instruction and personalized attention, we teach students strategies that build their confidence and ensure success.
Goals:
Our primary goal is to create a nurturing environment where learning is enjoyable, and students make measurable, significant progress each year. We aim to instill confidence and help students achieve their personal goals. Progress is tracked using standardized tests and curriculum assessments, documented in each student’s IEP and reviewed annually.
Additionally, we provide specialized services through our highly qualified staff in the areas of Counseling, Psychology, Speech/Language, Occupational Therapy, Literacy, English Language Development, Gifted/Talented programs and Family Liaison to support all students and their families.
