Professional Background/Education/Experience:

I graduated from Kansas State University with my BS in Secondary English Education. I taught 8th grade Language Arts for several years before leaving Kansas for Colorado. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters in English and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and I taught in the English department at CSU for six years. During this time I was also editor of Ruminate Magazine, a literary magazine.

 

What I love about working at Beattie: 

I love the energy and excitement of elementary school students as well as the small community feel of our school!

 

Personal Interests/Hobbies: 

Creative writing, hiking, running, traveling in my '82 campervan, and hanging out with my husband and cat, Tuesday.
