Integrated Services Teachers and Paraprofessionals

đŸ§© Integrated Services: Teachers & Paraprofessionals

At Beattie Elementary, our Integrated Services team is dedicated to supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—within inclusive, co-taught classrooms.

đŸ‘©â€đŸ« Integrated Services Teachers

  • Special education teachers design, implement, and monitor individualized instructional plans aligned with each student’s IEP.
  • They collaborate with gen-ed teachers in co-teaching models, planning together, assessing student needs, and adapting lessons for diverse learners.
  • Their leadership supports consistency and targeted inclusion across all grade levels.

đŸ€ Paraprofessionals

Our paraprofessionals serve as essential educational partners, directly supporting IEP implementation:

  • They work under teacher guidance, assisting in both general education and resource settings.
  • Key responsibilities include implementing instructional activities, reinforcing learning in small groups or individually, adjusting materials to meet student needs, and monitoring behavior.
  • They often support students with physical needs—such as mobility, personal care, or behavior strategies—and help encourage participation in classroom routines and activities.
  • They communicate closely with teachers, counselors, and specialists to monitor progress and maintain updates in student data.

đŸ« Why This Matters

  • Inclusion Through Co-Teaching: Integrated Services teachers and paraprofessionals work hand-in-hand with general educators, promoting an inclusive classroom where all students are supported..
  • Targeted Support: Small-group and one-on-one interactions allow for responsive instruction and accommodations—boosting student confidence and autonomy.
  • Consistency and Collaboration: Instructional teams rely on paraprofessionals for valuable insights on student progress, behavior trends, and success markers.

💬 Hear from the Field
