At Beattie Elementary, our Integrated Services team is dedicated to supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—within inclusive, co-taught classrooms.

• Special education teachers design, implement, and monitor individualized instructional plans aligned with each student’s IEP.
• They collaborate with gen-ed teachers in co-teaching models, planning together, assessing student needs, and adapting lessons for diverse learners.

Our paraprofessionals serve as essential educational partners, directly supporting IEP implementation:

• They work under teacher guidance, assisting in both general education and resource settings.
• Key responsibilities include implementing instructional activities, reinforcing learning in small groups or individually, adjusting materials to meet student needs, and monitoring behavior.
• They often support students with physical needs—such as mobility, personal care, or behavior strategies—and help encourage participation in classroom routines and activities.
• They communicate closely with teachers, counselors, and specialists to monitor progress and maintain updates in student data.
