Integrated Services

šŸ› ļø Integrated Services at Beattie Elementary

Beattie Elementary offers a comprehensive Integrated Services model under both the federal IDEA and Colorado’s ECEA, ensuring that students with disabilities have access to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

šŸ”¹ Multi‑Categorical Program

This program supports students with any of the 14 IDEA-eligible disability categories. Through thorough evaluations, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is created for each student, specifying specialized instruction, related services, and accommodations tailored to their needs .

šŸ”¹ Integrated Services in a MTSS Model

For K–5 students with mild or moderate learning challenges, we follow PSD’s MTSS approach:

  1. Differentiated Classroom Instruction – All learners receive Tier 1 support through co-teaching and inclusive instruction, providing meaningful access to grade-level content.
  2. Small-Group Support – Students receive Tier 2/3 interventions in core subjects with highly personalized instructional strategies. Learners are supported in groups of approximately 6, ensuring smooth transitions back to the general classroom.
  3. Integrated Services Team – Comprised of special educators, psychologists, speech/language and occupational therapists, family liaisons, ELD support, gifted/talented staff, counselors, and district specialists working collaboratively for student success.

šŸŽÆ Program Goals

  • Provide a welcoming, engaging environment where learning is personalized and progress is evident every year.
  • Track success through standardized assessments, curriculum-based measures, and IEP-goal data.
  • Empower students to develop confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy as they reach—and exceed—their individual goals.

🌐 Why Our Approach Works

Rooted in the MTSS framework, Beattie’s Integrated Services encompass:

  • A continuum of supports aligned with each student’s abilities and needs
  • Co-teaching as a foundation for inclusion and differentiation
  • Comprehensive services that promote academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth

This supports every learner in achieving meaningful progress alongside their peers.
