What is ELD?English Language Learners

ELD services provide emerging bilingual learners with:

  • A solid English language foundation 
  • Instruction planned by English proficiency level
  • An emphasis on verbal and written language 
  • Ample opportunities for structured, meaningful interaction and collaboration in small groups and in the grade-level classroom

Goals of the ELD Program

English Language Development (ELD) services at Beattie support Emerging Bilingual students as they learn the content and language necessary for success in school and after graduation.  Strategies used are focused on developing English in the 4 domains of language: Listening, Speaking,Reading, and Writing.
