I am a graduate of Poudre School District. I went to Beattie Elementary, Webber Middle School, and Rocky Mountain high school.
This is my 5th year of teaching and is my second year here at Beattie.
I attended Front Range Community College for an Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education. From there, I transferred and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for Elementary Teaching with a Minor in Reading. After graduation, I moved to Colorado Springs where I taught in 3rd grade for 3 years. For two of those years I taught all subjects, and one year I taught Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Beattie has always been my home. I attended Beattie from Kindergarten through 6th grade as well as volunteered here for several years throughout high school and college. In college I completed my student teaching right here at Beattie in 3rd grade. I have always loved how welcoming Beattie is; how it is full of teachers, administration, and staff who truly care about kids. It is a privilege to be a part of a positive and caring community.
My favorite thing to do in my free time is to read. I love going to book stores, reading, and talking about the books that I have read. I will always say "yes" to any shopping excursion, and I also enjoy classic Colorado activies such as hiking, riding my bike around the bike paths in town and going for walks.
I have a passion for traveling because I love learning about history, art and different cultures. This summer I went to Hawaii to visit my brother and spent my time at the beach, hiking, snorkeling, and taking in the natrual beauty of O'ahu.
