Although all schools in PSD are amazing, Beattie's focus on teamwork, collaboration, community and creativity sets us apart from any other school. We truly strive for PSD's vision of Educating Every Child Everyday and helping students succeed. I came to Beattie after moving 'home' to Colorado in 2010. Although I taught at larger schools in Florida, the small, neighborhood school atmosphere of Beattie is refreshing. It's wonderful to see the children develop and progress each and everyday and to see the children mature and grow throughout the years. The staff at Beattie are one of a kind, and are some of the most dedicated individuals you will find in education. We truly, honestly and sincerely work hard to help children grow and learn, and we don't miss an opportunity to assist families throughout our community.
I have three adult children. We were blessed with our first grandson in January, 2016 and our second grandson this past summer (2018)! I've spent years helping my kids develop their hobbies (sports, music, dance), so its new to me to have hobbies of my own! If I had to pick them, I would have to say spending time with my large family (I have 7 brothers and sisters), reading and traveling are my top choices. I also love to write and have tons of humorous stories about teaching - coming out in book form soon!
