I graduated from the University of South Florida in 1986 with a BA in Elementary Education. I earned my Gifted Certification in 1987 from St. Thomas University. I have taught Preschool- 6th Grade as well as Gifted education over my 20+ years in the classroom. I have taught in Miami, Tampa, Denver, New York and Fort Collins. (Researching and implementing the latest research-based ideas and best practices is one of my obsessions!) This is my 13th year in PSD, my fifth year at Beattie.
There are so many things to love about Beattie. In all of my experience, this is by far the warmest, most caring place! I LOVE coming to work every day. Our students and staff are amazing and I so enjoy walking with them on their educational journey.
My husband and I have two wonderful kids. Our 21 year old son is in his last year of graduate school, studying Computer Science, at CU Boulder. Our 25 year old daughter is currently completing her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Connecticut and plans to return to Fort Collins to teach high school history. My hobbies/interests include: hanging out with my husband and our 6 chickens, gardening, reading, creating new vegetarian dishes and trying to see as many movies as possible.
