I am a graduate of Fort Collins High School and went on to attend the Universtiy of Northern Colorado where I earned my teaching degree and where I am currently working towards my masters. I began my teaching career for Aurora Public Schools teaching fourth grade and Kindergarten. During my six years in APS I became a Literacy Demonstration Classroom as well as took several courses on music and movement in the classroom! The past year I have been learning more and more about the power of play and how important it is for our children! I love to keep learning and growing as a teacher. In 2013, my family and I had the wonderful opportunity to move back to Fort Collins where I began teaching at Beattie! I have taught first, fourth and second grade here at Beattie. This will be my 13th year teaching and I am so excited to be teaching our wonderful first graders again!
I love the strong community here at Beattie! The staff, students, and parents are all working so hard to create a positive and happy learning environment!
I have been married to my husband, Martin, since 2009. We met while both playing the violin in the Fort Collins High School orchestra! We have a second grade daughter and a two year old son! As a family, we love to spend time outside hiking and playing in this beautiful state of ours as well as playing an listening to lots of music together!
