Professional Background/Education/Experience:

I came to the Beattie library in 2012, after 17 years at CLP elementary school with their Title 1 program and in the Media Center.  I also worked with Fort Collins Read-Aloud, where I trained adult volunteers as in-home readers and mentors for young children and their parents.  I worked with the LINC library summer reading program for 20 years, since it began in 1995.  It's wonderful working with kids and helping them become successful readers.  I love reading, books, and kids!

What I love about working at Beattie:

Reading to the kids and getting them excited about  books is the greatest reward in my job.  Seeing them ready for a new book, listening for what comes next, and then eagerly wanting to check that book out and share it at home is great!  We are updating our collection to meet the needs of the students and filling our shelves with new and popular titles to keep them coming back for more every week.  Beattie kids love to read and I love getting books into their hands.  Visit the media center and you'll see what I love about working at Beattie!

Personal Interests/Hobbies:

I love to read, no surprise!  I also love cooking, working in the yard, riding my bike, and traveling to visit family.  My son lives in Fort Collins and my daughter and her husband live in Denver with their two children.
