Hometown:

I was born on Route 66 in Gallup, NM. I then moved to Las Cruces, NM when I was nine and lived there through college. I moved to Fort Collins in 2002. Since then I got married, had two beautiful boys, adopted two dogs, and pursued a career in teaching!

Professional Background/Education/Experience:

~Did an exchange program in 2001 in the Turks and Caicos islands studying coral bleaching.

~Graduated NMSU with a bachelors in Science in 2002 where I bred squid!

~Worked at Olander Elementary as a literacy pera/teacher from 2005-2008

~Graduated from Regis University with a masters in Education in 2008

~Hired on as a classroom teacher at Beattie from 2008-Present

What I love about working at Beattie:

I love working at Beattie because of the wonderful children, families, and staff.  Everyone has made teaching at Beattie a great place to be!

Personal Interests/Hobbies:

If you cannot find me at school, I am either with my family or planning my next trip to the beach!  I may have been born in the dessert and live in Colorado, but nothing can keep me away from the ocean.  I love to scuba dive with my husband and cannot wait to get my children certified!  A lot of people dive for the fish, not me!  I'm an invertabrate kind of girl.  I also enjoy spending time at the lake with my family, traveling, riding my motorcycle through the mountains, running, and camping.
